Composition

Each vaginal suppository contains-

Metronidazole 200 mg
Neomycin Sulphate 35,000 IU
Nystatin 1,00,000 IU
Polymyxin B Sulphate 35,000 IU

Indications

This combination is indicated in vaginal trichomoniasis, vaginal leucorrhoeas, mixed vaginal infections (Fungal or Bacterial).

Therapeutic Class

Drugs used in Vaginal and Vulval condition

Pharmacology

Neomycin is an aminoglycoside having bactericidal activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Polymyxin B is effective against gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Nystatin is a polyene antifungal agent with excellent antifungal activity.

Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole which is effective against various anaerobic bacteria and protozoa.

Dosage & Administration

One suppository to be inserted into vagina at bedtime for 12 days, or as directed by the physician.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product.

Side Effects

Skin rash and urticaria may occur rarely.
